A pairing and mentoring group for software engineers (Ruby/Python/JS) founded and run by Jay Bobo, CoverMyMeds’ Software Developer, Training Manager.
Columbus Ruby Brigade
This group brings together professionals, students and geeks who are excited about the Ruby programming language and Rails framework, and the joy they’ve brought back to web development. The CoverMyMeds dev team has a huge presence in this community. Engineering Manager, Jon Canady is on the board.
Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event that brings together Columbus designers, developers, entrepreneurs and experts from all domains to do amazing things. Suzy Bureau, Manager, New Product Strategy, is the organizer and CEO Matt Scantland and SVP Talent, Alan Gilbert act as mentors.
Startup Week is a free, five-day celebration of our community that builds momentum and opportunity around entrepreneurship, organized by CoverMyMeds Sr. Manager, Recruiting, Nick Seguin.
Warner Moore, CoverMyMeds’ Information Security Manager, runs the Columbus chapter of LOPSA, an organization that gathers system administrators to increase professionalism in their work. They concentrate on education, ethics and research in order to advance the profession of System Administration.
DevOps Columbus gets together like-minded individuals operating in a DevOps based culture, or who want to learn more about implementing a DevOps culture in their organization. Organizers include CoverMyMeds Systems Engineer, Bill Schwanitz and Systems Engineer, Dan Sajner.
COLUG has been around the Columbus area for nearly 20 years. A user group for Linux enthusiasts and professionals, as well as those simply curious about Linux, Scott Merrill, Manager, Production Operations, has been organizing the group for about half that time.
Canton Software Craftsmanship
Software Developer, Brandon Joyce, runs Canton Software Craftsmanship a community event for software developers to get together and hone their craft through activities like hands-on coding and community involvement.
