Steps to NPI Verification with CoverMyMeds

Congratulations! You’ve registered for your free CoverMyMeds account and are one step closer to getting your patient on the medication they need to be healthy. The next step is to verify your prescriber’s NPI to ensure you’re taking full advantage of your CoverMyMeds account.

Why do I need to verify?

By verifying your prescriber, you will receive any prior authorization (PA) request started, AUTOMATICALLY. In addition to receiving a fax that a PA has been initiated by the pharmacy, a convenient email will also be sent to you.

Additionally, if a prescriber or prescribers are verified to a group account, any PA request initiated will show up in all group members accounts.

How do I verify?

It’s simple! Just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your CoverMyMeds account and click “Prescribers” at the top of the dashboard.
  2. Find your prescriber by typing their NPI number.
  3. Click “Add Prescriber” and once you’ve added all your prescribers, click “Initiate Verification”.
  4. CoverMyMeds will fax a code to the number provided. You will receive a fax code to one of the verified fax numbers that you choose. Click the “Enter Code” button on the prescriber screen to complete the verification.
