Work Begins on Our Second Building; Completion Scheduled for Summer of 2022

CoverMyMeds Campus Update: Rapid Growth Fuels Faster Investment in Our People and Our Community

 |  Lars Johansson, Director of Campus Operations

Things move fast at CoverMyMeds. Our people accomplish big things every day – from building solutions that have helped patients get the medication they need to live healthy lives more than 177 million times to building our campus in Franklinton, Ohio.

In the past three years, our company has tripled in size, growing from a small but committed team to a workforce which will reach more than 1,500 by the end of March 2020. As a result of our rapid growth, we’re continuing to create new jobs and expand our team to help us make an even bigger impact on our mission. Our rapid growth has also created a need for more workspace for our employees to collaborate and achieve great things.

Thanks to our continued growth, we’re able to further invest in our people and our community – and do it faster than originally expected. We recently kicked off work on our second campus building, which will offer our staff an additional 200,000 square feet of working space. We’re on track to expand into the second building by the summer of 2022.

While both of the buildings will have a similar exterior appearance, the interiors will each have a distinct look and feel. The interior of our first building is rectilinear in style with straight lines and angles, while our second building is curvilinear with more smooth and winding lines. The two buildings will meet through walkways connecting all floors of the buildings and share a central green space that will allow employees to extend their workspace to the outside.

We’re making incredible progress on our campus so far and construction on our future home remains on track, with the first building’s occupancy date slated for April 2021. This sequence will allow for quick and efficient simultaneous construction of our two side-by-side buildings.

In total, our campus project accounts for $240 million in capital investment in Franklinton, and when all work is done, the campus will host nearly 420,000 square feet of workspace for our employees and the community to enjoy.

Guided by core values which inspire us to Do The Right Thing and Be Selfless, we’ve positively contributed to the community for many years; calling Franklinton home enables us to expand our presence and continue to give back in a unique way. We’re thankful for our partnerships with Columbus City Schools, Columbus Metropolitan Library, COSI and many other local organizations that allow us to continue to be good neighbors and support the needs of the community.

For Our Employees and Our Community

Creating a remarkable place for our employees and our community are the two pillars that inspired the design of the CoverMyMeds campus. Sustainably built to LEED and WELL standards and with workplace flexibility in mind, our campus is designed to meet our employees’ unique workplace needs – now and in the future. That includes the ability to offer benefits like nutritious lunch made by our talented culinary team, learning and career development opportunities, and investment in employee health and wellness. In addition to an on-site fitness center and indoor/outdoor workspaces, our “back yard” will have a park-like setting with greenspace that connects to nearby walking and biking trails.

Our campus is also built to engage our community with educational programming, access to local artwork, community events and functional space for local organizations to host meetings. Our campus is connected to the neighborhood through infrastructure improvements like bike paths and bus stops, providing our neighbors and employees with alternative transportation options to efficiently commute while reducing single-occupancy vehicles on the road.

We’ll share future updates about our campus as we break ground on this next phase of the project. Stay up-to-date and learn more about what makes CoverMyMeds a great place to work and grow by visiting our website.
